I am sincerely delighted for this opportunity to greet you all and to welcome all our prospective pupils, teachers, parents and guardians to Aptitude School. It has long been my dream to have a school where:

  1. Every children in our society and beyond can have a good shot at qualitative education at all stages of their lives.
  2. Their talents and God-given innate abilities can be nurtured and developed through a well-planned and balanced curriculum that take cognisance of academic and practical excellence. In order to achieve this, our school is built around both human capital, educational tools and vocational skill to bring out the best in our pupils in areas of Swimming, Music, Art and elementary programming (Coding).
  3. A school where the inner leadership qualities of our young ones will be brought to fore through systematic, consistent and self-motivated leadership training.
  4. An institution where attitude of our younger ones can be shaped positively at a tender age. Attitude, they say, is not a character nor an habit but what we repeatedly do.

With Aptitude, this dream has finally come into fruition.

There is a very powerful quote by Marianne Williamson, which you may or may not be familiar with and I would like to share it with you. It reads as follows:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

 

Therefore, our overall objective is to have an all grounded pupils who are not only brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous but are also filled with positive attitudes and have acquired what it takes to become future leaders of our land.

For us to achieve the above feats, the school has built its culture on four pillars of Pupils, Teachers, Attitudes and Aptitudes. The School and its Governing Board are obsessed with the quality of academics and non-academics education to be given to the pupils. It is on this basis, that all our teachers have minimum of 3 years teaching experience in addition to a regular training to be provided by Scholastic International.

The school will also focus on other activities such as swimming, coding, art and painting and elementary introduction to STEM from basis classes.

Not such a surprise that the vision and mission statement of the school is stated as thus:

Vision: To be the most respected school in Nigeria

Mission: Providing young minds with quality education, shape their attitude positively, bring out their innate qualities and skill set and nurture them into a God fearing, intelligent, compassionate and respectful adult who will be well equipped to lead the nation into the next century

Let me finally add that the School comprises Nursery & Primary School, Secondary School and a centre for Computer Based Test (CBT) with over 300 capacity. While the Nursery and Primary School has been completed and is ready to take off, work is still ongoing on the CBT and Secondary School. Projected completion date is not later than December 2020.
